Dennis Weiss said he’s hoping to open Weiss Distilling Co. for bottle sales in late July before welcoming guests for cocktails later in the summer. The roughly 5,000-square-foot distillery, retail space and tasting room at 34 E. 14 Mile Road will feature Weiss’ proprietary vodka, gin, absinthe, whiskey and bourbon.

Weiss Distilling Company will open a speakeasy-vibe tasting room and distillery in Clawson’s oldest existing building, at 24-34 E. 14 Mile Road. It’s a vacant strip that once housed a coffee shop. Owner Dennis Weiss also hopes to create a retail shop available for lease by artisans, Horton said. Weiss hopes to hang up his shingle by year’s end, Horton said.

Mr. B’s Is Bringing an Underground Speakeasy to Royal Oak

Distillery and tasting room Weiss Distilling Co. is setting up shop in a span of buildings at 24-34 E. 14 Mile Rd. in Clawson, according to the Royal Oak Review. The distillery will make vodka, gin, bourbon, and whiskey primarily for the 35-seat tasting room, but owner Dennis Weiss hopes to eventually expand into distribution. The distillery plans to start production by the end of the year.
